Current Track Obsession 🎧 Vol. IX

It's funny how much Current Track Obsession (CTO) has become part of my weekly routine. 🤣

Thursday, the day CTO comes out, I listen to the 5 tracks that I've selected for the week on the way to work and from work. 🎧 Friday through Sunday I'm listening to my current playlists on repeat. Then Monday and Tuesday I start adding new music to the month's playlist. And on Wednesday I spend my evening jamming out, picking out tracks, researching, etc. Even Steven knows that Wednesday is Current Track Obsession night, which means he gets a free pass to play video games all night. 😍

.

This is the last Volume coming out of March's playlist! I can't believe we are heading into April next week. 🙈 What does that mean? This Sunday at 9 pm, I'll be releasing the monthly recap for Current Track Obsession where you can find out what 5 things (artists, albums, tracks, etc.) that made a major impact on me. There's no Instagram post to accompany it, so you'll only be able to catch it on my blog! 💗

.

ALSO next week I'll have a poll going on my Instagram stories on what April's playlist should be titled! Can't wait, so many exciting things when a new month arrives!

.

Until then, let's get to this weeks coolest of cool 😎

.

1️⃣ Old Soul - Zola

*A Tiny Explicit*

* A lot of artists on this week's CTO are super new to me, Zola included. But I'm so glad I've been introduced now. "Old Soul" was a song that stood out to me as soon as it came on the stereo. The intro sets the track up to be a song full of punch, and it delivers. I love the beat and the fact that I was trying to sing along with it on the first listen. The song's mood and reliability also make it one to remember. When you finish checking "Old Soul" out, check out Zola's newest release "Not Like Other Girls." I also highly recommend it.

.

2️⃣ I Like You - Harry Strange

* Obsessed isn't a strong enough adjective to describe my admiration for "I Like You" by Harry Strange. Genuine is the word that comes to mind when thinking about this song. It's sweet, romantic, and authentically pure. Everything your spring night needs. It also has a ton of stylish rhythm changes that keep it interesting and set it apart from a lot of melodies like it. I love the infusion of electronic notions and still holding true to its acoustic nature throughout. It's a modern love poem. I told you I was more than obsessed.

.

3️⃣ LA In Two - ELIO

* I'm a sucker for tracks like "LA In Two". The laid-back vocals layered with overtones of synthesized notes and fun beats. What's not to love? ELIO really has a special track here. But I actually was so close to including ELIO last week for a completely another song, "Jackie Onassis." That song is also a killer release. And if she couldn't get more awesome, "LA In Two" was reworked by Valley and it's pretty slick too. There's going to be a lot of great things coming from this girl right here and you're going to want to hop on the fan train sooner rather than later.

.

4️⃣ Trickledown - Boom Forest

* Coolest track of the week goes to Boom Forest by a landslide. When I heard "Trickledown" for the first time, I was blown away by its uniqueness. It's funky in the best way possible. I actually found it researching Boom Forest after finding his song "Prying Eyes," which is one of his older releases. Both of these songs are superb and deserve a listen. I love Boom Forest's fresh perspective on music. I'm also really looking forward to checking out his album entitled "Wisconsin" for obvious reasons, which was apparently written in Wisconsin!

.

6️⃣ WOW - Chapel

* "Wow" = Fun. Seriously. From the first few notes, this song put a smile on my face. I've been a fan of Chapel since their early release "Caught Up" from 2016 and was in love when they released "Friends" in 2019. "Wow" is a really nice addition to their collection of songs with an upbeat, catchy beat that makes you wanna bop your head and sing along. It makes me super stoked for their EP which drops April 23rd!

.

I hope you find something that puts a pep in your step heading into your weekend. Finish the month off strong and then look forward to crushing it in April. 🎉 Steven and I will be doing some heavy packing this weekend... I feel like I say that on every CTO blog post. So. Much. Stuff. 😬
