current track obsession 🎧 vol. xxxiv

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I feel the summer chapter closing and the fall upon us. Summer projects are wrapping up, fall schedules are starting, and tunes are starting to put me in the cozy-sweater mood. You know the one I'm talking about. πŸ˜β˜•πŸ

.

If you haven't heard me say it enough, Fall is by far my favorite time of year - and fittingly enough, the tracks finding their way to September's playlist are matching my renewed autumn spirit!

.

SO, I highly recommend giving these newest adds to the Current Track Obsession playlist a listen! (Another 6 track week, because I truly could not narrow it down to 5!)

.

1. Talk to Me - Trauna

* What a unique sound Trauna is giving us on their third ever release, "Talk to Me." Trauna, which produced their debut track in 2020, delivers all the psychedelic, 70s vibes that they promise to deliver in the catchiest way. Between this groups soft, dreamy vocals layered with throwback guitar parts, horns, and a rhythm section to boast- this band is one to have your eye pealed to as they go onto great things!

2. Friday Nights in October - 90's Kids

(*A Tiny Explicit*)

* The moment I put this track on, it transported me back to my High School years in the best way possible and I know all of my fellow "90's Kids" will know exactly what I'm talking about the moment the soft, rock tune takes over the airways. And if the aesthetic of 90's Kids wasn't enough to inspire a major Throwback Thursday, the lyrics in "Friday Nights in October" literally gives you all of those football games, homecoming dance, and bonfire vibes. So look no further for your fall anthem!

P.S. I've been a huge fan of 90's Kids for a while now and highly suggest checking out their other tracks Growing Up, Mandy Moore, and High School.

3. I Wanted to Keep You - NOVACUB

* I need to introduce you to one of my new favorite groups, who I had no clue about until this week's Current Track Obsession, NOVACUB. This group reminds me of RAC meets CHVRCHES meets the strong vocals of a group like Paramour. Now who wouldn't love that combination? "I Wanted to Keep You" is such a great beat, with simplistic, connectable lyrics. that posses a whole lot of potential. And from taking a moment to listen to this groups other releases, this track is just the tip of awesomeness coming from NOVACUB!

.

4. The Heat - Scrawny

* By now, you all know I'm a huge sucker for a track that does a fantastic job of combining the very greatest of vintage, 80's moods and modern melodies. Well, meet my newest addiction in this category "The Heat." Scrawny brings to life all of those Footloose colors while producing a song that makes you want to get up and dance in 2021. Besides the fantastic writing that went into making this melody a hit, I'm finding myself falling in love with Scrawny as an artist! His music is focused on "mental health, self-care, and finding worth within." Now here's a musicians message we need to shout from the rooftops! SO let's all get on the Scrawny fan train!

.

5. Johnnie Walker - Spritely

(*A Tiny Explicit*)

* Although "Johnnie Walker" made it's way to the streaming platforms a few months ago, it was such a powerful track that I stumbled across this week and I couldn't ignore it! It needed to be put it on blast, making it to my Current Track Obsession playlist. Between Spritely's absolutely gorgeous vocals, the thoughtful use of rhythm, and this track's beautiful lyrics, we are left with a song that leaves you thinking and wanting more. Really excited to see what is to come in Spritely's future!

.

6. Paper - Theo Bleak

* When I first heard "Paper" I was immediately drawn in by the lyrics, which in my opinion can make or break a song. And within the first 50 seconds I was like, "Okay this in nice." But then the beat dropped when we hit the first chorus and I was HOOKED. A song that incorporates both thought-provoking words and a stellar, catchy melodic line? Well, it's a hit in my book. Then you layer on Theo's ethereal vocals... let's just say I'm REALLY excited to see where this true artist goes from here (THIS IS THEO BLEAKS DEBUT!)

.

As the true beginning of fall approaches, I'm hoping that you're autumn playlist is off to a stellar start! Remember I'm hear to help introduce you to music that will inspire your personal soundtrack!

.

Love,
