Hey, Hey 7,000 Q&A
Yesterday, I celebrated a huge milestone in my "Instagram" career. 🎉
.
I shared with my followers and the 'gram that in one year I've grown my following from 700 to 7,000. Is there a lot of room to grow? Absolutely! But, gosh darn, I am just so thankful that there are so many of you following along on my journey and supporting me. 💗
.
Over the past year, I have gotten to meet, chat, connect, etc. with some of the coolest, most creative and interesting, as well as kindest people I now know! And it's all thanks to the big wide world of Instagram.
.
So to celebrate I shared a few 'basic' key info pieces about me! (Things 99% of you already knew.) But I didn't want to stop the party there! 🥳 So I initiated a Q&A via my Instagram comments and stories where you could literally ask me anything. And below is what you wanted to know! 👇
.
Some of these questions are TOUGH! So I'll try to answer as short, and concise as possible without writing a book (but knowing me...that might be tough. 🤣) So, here we go!
.
If you could pick one superpower what would it be?
Honestly, wish I could pick more than one. But I would have to say time travel. I love history and would love to see it in real life. I also wouldn't mind getting to meet some of history's most iconic people.
.
What do you prefer, singing, dancing or acting?
EEK! Since my passion encompasses all of these- it's hard to choose. But to isolate them, I would say singing. It was my first love of the three.
.
Why are you so sweet?
Who asked this? Because they're the sweet one! I believe, why be mean in this world when being nice requires the same (and sometimes less) energy. Also- you NEVER know what someone else is going through.
.
What is your least favorite musical and why?
HAHA. Many of you who know me pretty well have a good idea of this one. I really don't think I can narrow it down to one but my least favorites are Hamilton and Wicked. I am not a huge fan of Hamilton's music style and I think Wicked is a tiny bit too commercial/cheesy. BUT if someone said, "Hey Rachel, wanna be in Wicked?" (I can't really be cast in Hamilton) I wouldn't say no! I could love Wicked for a role! I could love any show for a role.
.
What are your cat's names?
Our cat's names are Eliza, Octavia, and Patches. Also known as little kitty, kitty, and big kitty.
.
How often do you get to relax?
If you asked me this question about two years ago, I would have said never and that's the way I like it. Truly, I don't "relax" much as I don't really enjoy relaxing. I'd rather be learning, doing something, practicing, etc.
.
What got you interested in Content Creating?
I have no clue. Lol. Steven and I liked taking pictures and I liked coming up with photoshoot concepts and bringing them to life. Then I found out you could do that all the time, and I thought that sounded pretty sweet. We're really new in this game, and just experimenting really right now.
.
What's something you're excited about right now?
To move and decorate our new apartment! Also to show our furbabies the mountains!
.
How do you spend your free time?
What free time? Lol. Just kidding. When I'm not at work I'm usually practicing, blogging, doing photoshoots, and editing. And when I'm not doing those things I'm playing with our cats and watching TV shows with my husband, Steven.
.
What motivates you in life?
I have never really thought about this... Or not so bluntly. I think mostly, myself. I have always had an internal drive that is always turned on, which is a blessing and a curse. I'm also motivated by bringing happiness to the people I love.
.
What's your favorite song from a musical?
This is nearly impossible for me. Depends on the day. Right now I've got "Before It's Over" from Dogfight stuck in my head, so we will go with that!
.
What was your favorite part of your move?
Since we're currently in the middle of our move, nothing. LOL! But I'm most looking forward to living somewhere with a beautiful landscape. Wisconsin's nice, but not Rocky Mountain nice.
.
What is your favorite TV Show?
This is easy. Gossip Girl. I've seen it at least 12 times all the way through. I finish the last episode and start it over from the beginning. XOXO.
.
How are you doing these days?
Doing okay. Life is good, just a little stressful trying to get everything done and make arrangements before we move. But it's really all worth it.
.
How did you and your hubby meet?
Now, this is a funny, and kind of long story, so I'll try to shorten it up. I started seeing this guy who I was in a show with after just breaking up with a boyfriend. He was living with a girl roommate who was dating, you guessed it, Steven. Steven lived next door to this guy I was seeing with a friend of theirs and it was like living on Big Brother. Just kidding. But kind of. It goes without saying, but things didn't work out between me and that boy or Steven and that girl. Steven's roommate's girlfriend set Steven and me up and it took months "hanging out" before Steven showed any interest. But... here we are now.
.
How did you get to 7,000 followers?
Posting a lot. Commenting on and following a lot of people who I find inspiring. Trying to create connections with others.
But really, it's not getting to 7,000 that's been the tough part-it's maintaining the following and encouraging engagement. So that's where I'm currently putting most of my energy.
.
What inspired you to get into the fields of art?
This is another tough, but a good, question. When I was little I liked to sing and make up dance routines. I would always get so inspired watching movies like "The Lizzy McGuire Movie" where the lead character would be singing and dancing up a storm, which sounds silly, but it's so true. Even "Smash" when I was older was motivating in some ways. It was a natural progression when I started participating in choir and school theatre productions and then began taking voice and dance lessons. My parents were also super supportive and that really helped. When I started thinking about what I wanted to go to college for, it was kind of a no-brainer that I singing, dancing, and acting were the things I enjoyed most in this world.
.
What are your favorite stores to shop at?
So, so many. To name a FEW though...
-LOFT -ModCloth
-Aerie -H&M
.
Where do you get your photoshoot ideas?
75% comes from Pinterest. Usually, I know what I need to shoot (whether it be a product, clothing, or within a theme for a National Holiday) and I just search from there. And unless I am OBSESSED with a shoot from head to toe, I usually pin pictures and create a mood board for my photoshoot. It has similarities, but I put my own spin on it. If I have no clue what to shoot, I type in "Creative Photoshoots" and see where Pinterest takes me

.
What did you want to be when you were little?
100% wanted to be a princess. Like no joke.
.
Why are you moving to Colorado and leaving me?
I didn't write down who asked me each question, I could go back and find it, but I'm guessing this came from a sad friend or family member. They, like us, are happy about our new adventures, but sad we're leaving.
The main reason for our move is opportunities. Steven and I have heard nothing but great things about Colorado for both of our passions AND about living in general. Really, we only see ourselves staying there for a few years before moving onto the next place. (But who knows...)
.
What's your dream photoshoot or vacation location?
OMG! I love this questions! I would love to shoot and vacation in Europe, specifically Paris. We are hoping to take a trip there within the next two years...
.
! THE LAST QUESTION !
.
What is one of your current goals? To get on stage again this year! It sounds silly as an actress to say that's a goal of mine since it's kind of a given, BUT it's something I need to seriously focus on. Getting out of the swing of things this past year has caused my "being on stage again" dream to get foggier and foggier as time has gone on. And, as of late, I've been SO lucky to be given a TON of directing and choreographing opportunities... but not so many as an actress. It's my BIGGEST goal of 2021.
.
And there you have it, folks! 😍
.
Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏 Thank you for asking these questions, taking the time to read my answers, and in general, being apart of my virtual community. Seriously, everyone is so busy these days and I get it, so the time you spend with me on the gram, through my blog, or any other social channel means SO MUCH to me. I hope you know how much I value each and every one of you! 💞
